GMT and Idling away the hours!
Towards the end of this month we shall all be putting our clocks back one hour and enjoying life in Greenwich Mean Time. And with the arrival of GMT the nights will seem darker and perhaps a little less pleasant. Certain parents will be using their cars to deliver and collect their offspring from school, college, academy, etc.
Arriving early at the destination some parents/child-minders often leave their engines idling oblivious to what it is doing to the atmosphere outside their vehicle.
I came across this sign outside a school in Leicester recently which I thought was quite adept at stating the case.
Residing on a street adjacent to a school entrance I know full well that this doesn’t apply to a mere few drivers especially when the temperature is low.
