About Us: Chronicle AGM and Community Services — October 2026

AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Kibworth Chronicle Association was held on Wednesday 7 October, at which all readers were invited to provide feedback on the publication’s operation and editorial content. As only the management team attended the meeting at Kibworth Methodist Church, it may be assumed that readers are generally satisfied with the current format. Should this not be the case, we invite you to submit your correspondence.

At the AGM, the following were voted into office:

  • Kevin Downing — Chairman/Treasurer
  • Mark Grech — Advertising Manager
  • Stephen Poyzer — Editor
  • Joy Hill — Noticeboard
  • Ros Ousey — District Editor
  • Mike Taylor — Photography
  • Beverley Taylor — Lay Up Coordinator
  • Marie-Anne Beere — Distribution Manager
  • Antony Dobson — Online Manager

Talking Chronicle

Almost since its inception, we have produced an audio edition of the Chronicle, primarily for registered blind individuals. Formerly distributed on cassette tapes, the publication is now recorded digitally on CD. Judith Greening records all or selected sections of the Chronicle, and the recordings are delivered to those who may benefit from the aural format. Should you or a third party require this service, please contact Judith directly; her telephone number is listed on the reverse of this Chronicle.

Deliveries

We are sincerely grateful to our volunteer distributors, who deliver this publication regardless of weather conditions. Should you wish to be included on our standby list, please contact our Distribution Manager, Marie-Anne Beere, whose telephone number is provided on the back page.

Subscriptions

Each month, upon publication of the Chronicle, copies are distributed via postal subscription to a wide range of locations. This service is frequently utilised by individuals who formerly resided in the distribution area and wish to maintain their connection with this part of south Leicestershire. Should you wish to arrange a subscription for yourself or a friend, please contact Christine Wigley for further information. Her telephone number is also listed on the reverse of the Chronicle.

Website

We are continually updating our website and would welcome assistance from younger individuals. If you are technologically proficient and wish to make a meaningful impact on your community, please contact Antony Dobson. This opportunity is ideal for enhancing your CV, particularly if you intend to attend university next year and wish to demonstrate community involvement. He may be reached at online@kibworthchronicle.com.

Publication dates

Publication dates for the remainder of the year are on Thursdays 19 November, 17 December, 14 January, 11 February, 18 March, 14 April, 13 May and 17 June. We then take our summer break.
