What’s Going On? — October 2026

EV charging points operational

We are pleased to report that the four electric vehicle (EV) charging points situated in the Co-op car park are now operational. The work to attach them to the electricity substation on School Road began on 17 August. It was scheduled to take three weeks — the exercise took only seven weeks!

High Street changes

Kibworth High Street is undergoing some more changes. Sadly, Coco’s at No. 56 ceased trading on Saturday 3 October after less than a year in business. Meanwhile, Scarlett and Wildflowers have relocated to Buttercups tearooms just outside Billesdon.

The former mud cottage wall is having the planned carport built within the former walls, and this will allow the pavement to be fully accessible once again.

Fire station upgrade

The fire station on Fleckney Road is to be upgraded. We await seeing the plans.

Fences and hedges

Who is responsible for the fence/hedge adjacent to Station Hollow? Is the fence being held up by the hedge? Here, and the one opposite leading to Brookfield Park along Station Street, are both in need of TLC and generally tidying up and fixing.

Solar panels at the Community Hub

Kibworth Community Hub, which was the former Kibworth Beauchamp Grammar School Hall and which celebrated its 90th birthday last month (18–19 September), has had solar panels installed. Hopefully another 90 years serving the community.
