VASL Community Champions has a ‘new old’ recruit in the form of Hannah, who has moved across after 14 years of supporting unpaid family carers at VASL.
Community Champions is a free service, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, dedicated to reducing isolation and bringing joy back to people aged 60+ who live alone in Harborough District.
We are always looking for new volunteers to become befrienders, support our trips and outings, or help people with their digital skills. If you would like to give something back and make a difference in your own community, please phone 01858 439262 or email champions@vasl.org.uk. Please also get in touch if you would like to refer yourself, or someone you know, to the project. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept people living with dementia.
Why not come along to our new group, Well-come, for a chat with others? Meet from 2:30-3:30pm at The Well, Kibworth, on Tuesday 20 October, with friendly volunteers Burné and Alison. If transport is a problem, give us a call – we might be able to help.
