The Kibworth Art Lovers
The Kibworth Art Lovers finished the 2024/25 programme with a meeting in June led by Professional Artist, Barbara Hatton. Barbara was one of the first members of our society and it was good to welcome her back to show, and talk about, her colourful abstract paintings.
During the long hot Summer which followed, several of our members found opportunities for sketching and painting. In July we met at the Market Harborough Canal Basin which offered a variety of subjects for sketching. This event proved popular with walkers along the towpath, and at the café, who showed an interest in our activity.
We start our new and varied programme of art demos and talks on Tuesday 29 September with professional printmaker, Kevin Holdaway. In his artist statement, Kevin says, “I invite the viewer into my work to explore, to take a journey through the many visual layers involved and to discover something of the moment I experienced, or, to evoke memories of their own.”
Our meetings take place at the Kibworth Community Hub Lounge from 7 to 9 pm. Visitors and new members are warmly welcome.
