Kibworth High Street is looking its best for some time, with many of the shops having a fresh lick of paint.

The refreshed appearance is further enhanced by the flower troughs. Thank you to Robert Longhill, landlord of several High Street properties, and We Are Kibworth (Kibworth Business Forum) for their contribution to improving the village centre.

The Gas House Sign Restored

‘The Gas House’ at 26 New Road now has a new sign placed above the door, re-establishing the wording that originally appeared on the stone mantel and celebrating an important piece of Kibworth’s local history.

Electric Vehicle Charging at the Co-op

Kibworth Co-op has had a pair of electric vehicle charging points installed, which are expected to be available for use shortly.

The new charging points have been installed by Zest and will provide an additional facility for local residents and visitors.

Disability Premier League Cricket Comes to Kibworth

Kibworth Cricket Club hosted a Toyota-sponsored Disability Premier League tournament on Sunday 7 June.

Four teams competed across both cricket squares in a series of closely contested matches.

During the morning session, England Disability Black Cats tied with England Disability Pirates, with both teams scoring 148. England Disability Hawks defeated England Disability Tridents by 37 runs.

In the afternoon, the Black Cats (120-6) defeated the Tridents (117-9) by four wickets, while the Hawks (173-4) beat the Pirates (167-6) by six runs.

A very enjoyable day’s cricket was had by all involved.
