New Mental Health Cafe Opens
A new source of support for local people has recently launched at The Well in Kibworth. It offers a safe and welcoming space for anyone aged 18 and over who may be struggling with their mental health.

The Neighbourhood Mental Health Café (NMHC) is part of a network of cafés run by Turning Point. They operate across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, providing compassionate support when people need it most. The service is delivered by trained and supportive staff who are there to listen, offer practical guidance and help individuals find the support they need. The cafés provide a safe, welcoming environment where adults can talk through what is on their mind, receive practical advice and coping strategies, and learn about other services and sources of support available within their local community.
Mental health challenges can affect anyone at any time. Whether someone is feeling overwhelmed, anxious, isolated, stressed, or simply finding life difficult to cope with, the Neighbourhood Mental Health Café offers a place where they can talk openly without fear of judgement.
Visitors can drop in and speak with trained staff about what is on their mind, receive practical advice and coping strategies, and learn about support available locally. Staff can also help people develop plans to feel safer and more supported during difficult periods.
The Well

The Well has always aimed to be a place where everyone is welcome. The addition of the Neighbourhood Mental Health Café strengthens its commitment to supporting the wellbeing of local residents. By providing a relaxed and informal environment, the café removes many of the barriers that can prevent people from seeking help.
The café takes place every Thursday between 4.30 and 7.30pm at The Well. This provides a regular opportunity for people to access support in a familiar and friendly setting. The service is open to anyone aged 18 and over and there is no need for a referral. Simply walk in and speak to a member of the team. The guiding principle behind the service is simple: “Walk in. No judgement. No pressure.”
The launch comes at a time when awareness of mental health issues continues to grow. Many people are recognising the importance of seeking support early rather than struggling alone. The Neighbourhood Mental Health Café provides an opportunity for local people to access help close to home in a welcoming community setting.
We encourage anyone aged 18 or over who is experiencing difficulties with their mental health to visit the Neighbourhood Mental Health Café at The Well.
