Leicestershire National Open Gardens Scheme

On Sunday 26 April, 10-4pm, ‘Westbrooke House’ Market Harborough, LE16 8AX. A six-acre garden featuring mature limes, walled flower garden and kitchen garden, a wildlife pond, woodland paths, a wildflower area and a magnificent collection of over 10,000 tulips.
On Sunday 3 May, 11-4, ‘Tresillian House’ in Melton Mowbray LE13 0BQ opens its tranquil garden. Features include a range of specimen trees, a natural pond, a bog garden and koi carp pond. Working vegetable garden, Heated and cold greenhouses. Small art exhibitions by local artists. In addition to the refreshments, there will also be Ploughman’s lunches and cream teas
Also opening Sunday 3 May, 11-4 is ‘Tudor House’ Market Harborough LE16 7HE. One acre family garden featuring woodland, spring bulbs, lawns, greenhouse, pond, fire pit, sculptures and a vegetable patch and fruit cage.
‘Burrough Hall’, Melton Mowbray LE14 2QZ opens on Sunday 10 May, 2-5 pm. This garden surrounds the former hunting lodge with mature trees and shrubs, and extensive views across Leicestershire. In addition, a small collection of vintage and classic cars will be on display.
On Saturday 23 May and Monday 25 May, 11-5pm, ‘Westview’ in Great Glen, LE8 9EH, opens a lovely organically managed small garden packed full of plants and shrubs. A walled cottage garden with all year-round interest, which includes a courtyard, small pond, vegetable areas and recycled ornaments.
