St Wilfrid’s Church

Easter Thanks
Thank you to everyone who attended our Easter services, it was wonderful to have so many people celebrating with us! If you enjoyed our services, we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Who are we?
‘The Kibworth Benefice ‘comprises of ‘St Wilfrid’s‘ in Kibworth, ‚St Helen’s’in Saddington and ‘Christ Church’ in Smeeton Westerby. Together, we enjoy a mix of traditional and contemporary styles of worship on Sundays.
What happens ‘in vacancy’?
Following Ludger’s retirement at the end of 2025, we are now ‘in vacancy’ meaning that we are without a minister. During this time, the wardens are in overall charge, supported by PCC and the Spiritual Leadership team and the congregation!
Our aim is for continuity in the quality and style of our services, and to build on the strengths and foundations laid by Ludger. We will be inviting guest speakers to visit, and we look forward to hearing what they have to say.
What are ‘Minster Communities’?
The ‘Minster Communities’ are groups of churches in the Leicester Diocese that are working collaboratively and sharing resources to enable effective ministry. There are many reasons why this process is taking place; more information can be found by visiting: www.leicester.anglican.org/minster-communities.
The churches in our prospective Community are: Burton Overy, St Andrew’s; Great Glen, St Cuthbert’s; Carlton Curlieu, St Mary’s; Oadby, St Paul’s; Oadby, St Peter’s; and the three churches in our own benefice.
We are currently at Phase 2, which means that the various working groups have submitted their reports, and a formal proposal will be submitted to the Diocese. It is hoped that our Minster Community will be formalised by the end of 2027.
How can we all help?
Please get in touch with us if you have questions! Come to services as regularly as you can so that we can encourage one another, and navigate the next few months together.
Offer to help out! There are lots of ways to get involved, and it eases the workload greatly if lots of people do a little bit to help out!
We especially need more volunteers to help with the following areas:
Sound desk and projection – ideal if you like technology! Musicians to join our band;
church warden – to assist our head warden;
treasurer – preferably with previous experience
Annual Parochial Council (APC) Meeting
Our APC meeting takes place on Wednesday 29 April at 7.00pm in the Church Hall. If you have questions about any of the above, why not come along? Anyone is welcome to attend.
