The monthly public parish council meeting was held on 3 February at 7pm in the Studio at the Kibworth Community Hub.

County and District Council
A mid-February meeting has been secured with Neil O’Brien MP, senior County Highways officers and councillors to review New Road and Church Road A6 junctions.
County Council budget is expected to increase by 2.99% (meeting 18 February).
HDC budget meeting 23 February; Cabinet proposing 5% reduction.
Environmental Statement request submitted for 580 homes west of Warwick Road (draft Local Plan previously 450 homes).
Smeeton Road (28 homes) due for Planning Committee decision on 12 February.
Joint Boards & Community Updates
Joint Recreation Board (KJRB)
Warwick Park: Tree works completed following survey; storm-damaged trees removed.
Adult outdoor gym equipment under consideration (quotes obtained).
The Rookery: Quotes awaited for re-tarmacking and path widening.
Joint Burial Board (KJBB)
S106 funds received for bins and grave markers (bins ordered). Meeting planned with HDC regarding funding a workshop.
Agreed to the cleaning of the memorial for Col J. Chaplin VC.
Village Hall
Next film: Downton Abbey on 21 February.
Allotments
New fencing installed (s106 funded).
Short waiting list: new members encouraged.
Kibworth Community Hub
2025 accounts show overall loss of £19,555.57 (reduced to £6,435.23 excluding grant-funded activity).
Charity dissolution – discussions to commence in line with Charity Commission guidance.
Upcoming events: Fashion Show (14 April) and Wrestling (25 April).
