Kibworth Scout Group announces their new Scout building

Kibworth Scout Group are thrilled to announce our plans for a brand-new, modern, purpose-built Scout building on our land by the railway.
Since our fantastic venue on Fleckney Road opened in 1973, Scouts has flourished and remained a constantly popular activity. As the village has grown, so has the appeal to join the weekly activities that we offer. This has caused a huge burden on adult volunteers to find suitable additional meeting places for all our groups. However, we now hope to overcome the irregular availability and problematic bookings associated with temporary venues. These have hampered our group for over a decade now.

A new home for all of our sections that don’t have a permanent home.
This new facility will operate alongside the shared Scouts & Guides HQ. It will accommodate all of our sections that don’t have a permanent home. It will allow us to grow as a group and expand the range of activities we are able to offer. We are incredibly proud to be proposing a fantastic opportunity for future generations of young people in our community.
Over the past 18 months, our land has been transformed into a much loved outdoor education area. Consideration has been given to keeping our young people active; creating new experiences for them and showing consideration for the environment. We love that it is situated in the middle of the village. It has easy walking access and with easy and safe access to Warwick Park. The new building has been specially designed to be adaptable to our needs. It is a facility for the community, fit for the future!
We’re enormously grateful for all the help and support we’ve received from individuals and businesses so far. It also means a lot to us to have the help and support of the family who donated the land. We hope that everyone will get behind our project and offer us your support. You can write into the planning department at HDC or add comments online before the deadline on Monday 16 February.
