Kibworth and District Heritage Society
At our first ‘Kibworth & District Heritage Society’ meeting of the year, chairman John Freeland shared some fascinating stories and photographs about his great-granduncle, Alonzo Freeland. Alonzo was one of three well-known Victorian photographers in the village, and the photos of Kibworth from the past were particularly captivating.
Next meeting
Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 18 February at 7pm at the Kibworth Community Library. We’ll be hosting a workshop where we’ll explore the Isobel Cullum donation/collection.
Isobel Cullum, who passed away, was a features writer for the ‘Kibworth & District Chronicle’ for over 30 years. Her collection of photos and papers is a treasure trove of information about Kibworth’s history.
