What’s going on?

Have the flamigos finally fleed forever?
Now that the holiday season is finally over Kibworthians can look back at the humour brought by the Flamingos on the traffic island in the centre of the village. These pink birds generated a light relief to what is for some people a very stressful period. Thank you to whomever is concerned.
New trains on the track?
Have you seen and probbably not heard the new quiet trains, the bi-mode Hitachi Aurpra (Class 810) rushing through Kibworth using the overhead cables? There are few sets of them in use and more will be introduced very soon. They are replacing the Class 222 (Meridian units)
Scouts at the old Library
It is pleasing to learn that the lease of the library has been extended by a further six month to allow the Scouts to continue to use these premises. The County Council apparently want to sell the building and the land it stands on. Any philanthroopic person fancies helping out?
Kibworth Working Men’s Club plans
I am sure interested readers will have seen the application to repurpose Kibworth Working Men’s Club on Fleckney Road a building for eight dwellings and parking for 20 cars. (25/01567/FUL). We wait with baited breath for Harborough District Council Planning Committee descision on this matter..
And finally
Church flagpole – still needs straightening.
It must be over a year since the flagpole became Kibworth’s answer to the leaning tower of Pisa. What is being done about it?
