20th November 2025 | Community
Harborough District Council has taken the Climate Emergency Pledge to reduce emissions and tackle climate change across the district. You can do your bit to fight climate change by reducing waste and encouraging recycling as much as possible.

- Household waste is removed and taken to landfill sites
- Blue bin waste is sorted and recycled defences single use plastics and other high waste packaging
- Green bin garden waste is windrow processed and the compost is used locally on gardens, on brownfield sites, in landscaping and agriculture.
Harborough District Council Garden Waste Service finishes at the end of November and recommences in the first week of March. There are no collections throughout December, January or February. Depending which calendar you have been assigned to, Yellow (w/e November 21 is the last collection) or Blue (w/e November 28 is the last collection).
NB like last year there will be not collection of real Christmas trees.
