Use It or Lose It
I had a lovely walk at Foxton Locks on a sunny afternoon recently, and it made me realise how beautiful our area is and how important it is to take care of it.
Sadly, Foxton wasn’t as busy as usual. The reservoirs haven’t been filled up because it hasn’t rained much, so the canals have been quieter since the end of July.

This means the businesses by the water haven’t had as many visitors as they usually do. People have been driving by during the day, but the boaters who usually pass through haven’t been around, and the boat hire day trippers have had to stop. This has affected all the businesses along our canal network.
Our local businesses are always changing on our high street and in our nearby market town. We really need to support all these places of work. I know it’s easy to shop online and have things delivered, and the delivery is great, but the saying ‘use it or lose it’ is so true.
Have a wonderful Christmas shopping experience! I’m heading to the local bookshop now. Book tokens are so easy to wrap and do not use excessive shiny non-biodegradable paper either!
