Kibworth Fire & Rescue

As we move towards Autumn, the crew at Kibworth Fire Station wanted to take the opportunity to share some of the work they have done, along with the incidents they have attended, with the local community. Our role is always centred on keeping people safe. Whether that’s through responding to emergencies or providing fire safety advice and support.

Operationally, it has been another busy period for the station. The crew has responded to several significant incidents, including multiple road traffic collisions and a number of wildfires during the hot spells experienced recently. They also played an important part in tackling the large scrapyard fire that took place over the August Bank Holiday.

Alongside these larger incidents, they have attended a wide variety of other emergencies. This helps to protect both people and property within the community.

Local Community Engagement

In addition to our emergency response work, they have been busy engaging with the local community. Recently, they have taken part in several safety events. This includes visits to elderly care homes where they provided advice on fire prevention and home safety. They also hosted a road safety event at the station to raise awareness of the Fatal Four and the risks of driving without due care. Looking ahead, a charity car wash at the station is being planned. These events are a great way for them to connect with local people, share important safety messages, and support good causes.

On-call firefighters form a vital part of Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service. The team at Kibworth are committed to maintaining their skills through regular training so that they are always ready to respond when needed. Whilst being an on-call firefighter is a demanding commitment, it is also hugely rewarding. If you live locally and are looking for a way to make a real difference in your community, this could be the opportunity for you. We are always keen to welcome new members to the crew and encourage anyone interested to get in touch with the station for further details about the role, the recruitment process, and upcoming ‘Have-A-Go’ days.
