Main Street Theatre Company

At our AGM on Tuesday 2 September, we were delighted to acknowledge the very successful year that our group has had. From our successful Christmas show in 2024, ‘Holly Jolly Saves Christmas’, to our murder mystery supper night, ‘Murder in the Mailbox’, that was performed in local village halls. Both shows were great fun to put on and went down really well with our audiences. Thanks was given to everyone both back stage and on-stage for their time, effort and enthusiasm that made these shows the success they were.

The group have also held a number of social events: crazy golf in Leicester, table skittles in Cropston and a great Christmas Party at the Kings Head in Smeeton. Thanks was given to Joanne Wright for organising these.

After a vote of thanks to all of the committee members for all of their hard work over the previous year, the old committee stepped down, but, as most of the original committee were happy to stand again, they were re-elected with the exception of Abbie Noonan, our social media and ticket officer who, due to work commitments felt that she was unable to give the post her full attention at this time. Zara Kent was elected in her place. A huge thank you was offered to Abbie for all she has done on the committee over the years.

Our next show, ‘Rhyme and Treason’, currently in rehearsal, is another original family show written and directed by Martyn Wyburn, full of sparkling performances, great songs and terrible jokes. This fun, family show will be performed on Friday 21, Saturday 22, Friday 28 and Saturday 29 November at Kibworth Community Hub. There will be matinees on both Saturdays. Ticket will be £8 and will soon be available to be purchased on-line from mstc.uk or from ‘The Well, Kibworth. We do hope you will all come and support us and we look forward to seeing you there.
