Open Gardens September & October
St Wolstan’s House, LE18 3RA
St Wolstan’s House, LE18 3RA, will have an evening opening on Saturday 20 September, 6:30-9pm. The venue features a lovely ½ acre garden, which includes a sunken Italian Garden, a white garden, and an Edwardian Conservatory that will be lit up for this special occasion.
The New Barn, Desford, LE9 9GS opens Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September,11am- 4pm. It is a ¾ acre garden with lovely views and full of late-summer flowering perennials and annuals.
Enjoy the colour of autumn trees at Hammond Arboretum, Market Harborough, LE16 7JG, which opens on Sunday 5 October from 2-4.30pm. The Arboretum was established by Francis Hammond, former headmaster of the old Grammar school, and tree planting started in 1913. The Arboretum is home to a wide range of mature trees, including three champion trees and 36 classified as the best in Leicestershire.
On Sunday 26 October, 11am – 4pm, Tresillian House, LE13 0BG, opens a ¾-acre tranquil garden near Melton Mowbray, featuring mixed autumn colour, a pond, a small exhibition by local artists, and hot soup.
