K & D Heritage Society
The newly formed Kibworth & District Heritage Society (which hopefully will incorporate the currently dormant Kibworth History Society) recently ratified its constitution at a special meeting on Thursday 28 August in the Kibworth Community Library. The following were elected as officers of the society
- John Freeland Chair
- Stephen Poyzer – Vice Chair
- Sara Barrett – Treasurer
- Janet Dowling – Secretary
Going forward there will be an initial talk by John Tillotson at this month’s meeting of the society on Thursday 18 September. John’s talk will be held in the old Library building. It will be about the National School, – now the Old School Surgery. Please come along to listen to this free, fascinating talk at 7pm. Refreshments will be available
There will not be a meeting in October as the library will be ‘in transit’ moving itself to Kibworth Community Hub. The November meeting will feature a talk by David Holmes at the KCH. More information will be given in next month’s Kibworth and District Chronicle.
