This has been an extremely busy and successful month for the running club.

Three members of the club took on the Jane Tomlinson Leicester 10km charity run. Dan Pedley completed the race in 49:44, followed by Steve West in 58:30, Tracey Coates in 76:17, and Megan Lloyd in 77:11.

Steve West completed the Regency 10km at Leamington Spa in a time of 61:56. Well done!

Continuing with the road running league season, a good representation of the club completed the Desford 6. Coming in first for the club was Jamie Owen in 47:52, swiftly followed by Bernie Owen in 50:08, Dan Pedley in 51:13, John Redfearn in 57:13, Andy Kemp in 64:08, Fawzia Kauser in 64:22, Gary Lawrence in 70:39, Emily Pierce in 76:57, and Ruth Hughes in 81:09.

Stilton 7 was the 3rd race in the road running league. Steve King came in first for the club in 48:01, followed by Bernie Owen in 58:26, Jo Wood in 1:02:22, Emma Moore in 1:12:31, and Andy Kemp in 1:12:53.

The Leicester Big 10k saw four team club members take part in the race, with great results. Gary Lawrence finished in 69:11, Alex Lucas in 73:38, Ruth Hughes in 78:54 and Tracey Coates in 79.

Sam Pole took part in the Manx mountain marathon. This is a point to point fell race from Ramsey in the North of the Isle of Man to Port Erin in the South. Sam completed this challenging course in 6:22:02, coming an impressive 8th in the Senior Men category and 24th overall.

F&K had three members who raced at The London Marathon on Sunday 27 April. They all completed in fantastic times. Bernadette Owen came in first for the club at 04:31:26, John Clampin finished in 05:35:47 and Fawzia Kauser came in at 05:59:31. A great success all round for the club!

F&K took four teams to the Livingston Relays on Saturday 3 May, with great results. Great teamwork and support shown at this event.

Leda Roodbaraky tackled a solo mission of the Kinder Downfall Fell race, with a fantastic time of 1:54:55.

Steve King completed the Milton Keynes half marathon in a very respectable time of 105:28 – great job!

The most recent race achievement came from Silverstone 10k, during which two members of the club raced really well. Dan Pedley came in at a time of 53:21, followed by Fran Gould in a time of 77:56.

Finally, the club has also seen some great social events, including a weekend at the Lakes for some fell running and the infamous ‘pub runs’ which are always well attended!
