Follow up letter from Steve Needham

Dear Editor,

I seem to have achieved my aim of resurrecting the letters page so this will be my last word on the matter. I was expecting a balance reasoned response about Net Zero, not a rant attacking not just myself but the editor and bizarrely the readers of the Daily Mail.

I don’t read the Daily Mail myself. However I respect their readers’ rights to have an opinion and voice it, the same as everyone else. The Kibworth and District Chronicle letters page is there for all differing views to be expressed. Hopefully politely, as thankfully the editor recognises and not just the pseudo-intellectuals.

When major polluters take action we can join in.  We cannot afford to take the moral high ground of showing the rest of the world the way to go. Our economy and energy security are not strong enough.  We already have the most expensive industrial energy in the world and British industry is facing full-scale collapse.

It won’t be much of a future for anyone’s grandchildren if when the Russians arrive at our borders we are experiencing power cuts and our armed forces have no fuel.

Steve Needham

Editor’s Note: Thank you Steve to help reignite our once lively correspondence page. You certainly made a difference.
