This term at KMA we have been focused on our careers education. At KMA we want every student to leave us with a clear understanding of their next steps and some clear career goals. Therefore, we take every opportunity to embed careers into the curriculum. This takes different forms over the five years. From tutor time sessions, careers snippets in lessons or whole day events, culminating in a half term’s worth of 1:1 interviews with our careers advisor for Year 11. We also offer ongoing support over the year as they gain their places at Colleges and their Post-16 providers.

Leicester High School for Girls proudly hosted the UKMT Primary Team Maths Challenge 2025. They welcomed pupils from Market Harborough C of E Academy, Fleckney Primary School, St Joseph’s Catholic Voluntary Academy, St John Fisher CVA, and Avenue Primary School for a day of exciting mathematical challenges.

In October, our Year Six pupils embarked on an unforgettable residential trip to Castleton in the heart of the Peak District. The aim of this adventure was not only to explore the great outdoors but also to nurture independence, confidence, and friendships that will last a lifetime. As part of our commitment to enriching learning experiences, the children were given opportunities to challenge themselves, discover new skills, and create wonderful memories together. Their home for the week was the welcoming Hollowford Centre. Here they were welcomed by the friendly and supportive staff and instructors.

Students have come back from the summer holidays with a really positive attitude and have collectively achieved over 118,000 reward points for demonstrating our values of work hard, be kind, be proud, which bodes really well for the school year.

So, our first half term of the school year is done. Thank you to those who supported our Virtual Balloon Race and helped us raise £120. An extra thank you to our winner, who kindly donated their prize back to the school. We are also packing all our old and foreign coin donations to send, we will share our total raised soon.

We are absolutely delighted to share that our Foundation Stage team at Kibworth Primary has been honoured with the Pearson National Teaching Bronze Award for ‘Early Years Team of the Year 2025’. This prestigious accolade, awarded by the Pearson National Teaching Awards, celebrates the exceptional dedication, creativity, and impact of early years educators across the UK.

At Kibworth Mead we aim to give our students lots of different opportunities to shine. Two areas we would like to highlight this month are maths and athletics.

Kibworth Primary School recently hosted an inspirational careers day for all KS1 and KS2 pupils. The day was organised by Mrs Matthew and the MYPATH team. MYPATH are a local business that delivers careers education in a unique and exciting way! The event was a huge success. It provided children with a fabulous day filled with engaging activities and opportunities to learn about the world of work.
