We are saddened to learn of the death of Patricia ‘Pat’ Stops. For many years, Patricia ran a haute couture ladies' dress shop called "Patricia Charles" on Kibworth High Street. This was situated where ‘Wedding Belles’ is currently located.

The Kibworth & District Chronicle is saddened to learn of the death of Harold Mann. Harold was possibly the oldest member of our monthly delivery volunteers. He was asked many years ago by the then editor Roger Garratt to assist with delivering the Chronicle on a temporary basis but continued to do so in his nineties. He will be missed.

Margaret Amy Simkin was born at Kings Norton in May 1927, a daughter for John and Violet, a sister for Mary and Betty. Known as Amy throughout her long life she resided in the Illston district contributing greatly to the rural community.

One of the most respected composers of English Church music, performed worldwide in both choral and organ settings, was a former York Minster choir member whose work included conducting and advising in Europe, the USA and the Antipodes. He retained a strong sense of humour throughout his life and died at his home in York on Monday 5 January. He always felt he owed so much to his formative years as a pupil of Kibworth Beauchamp Grammar School.

Eileen Bromley passed away on 7 November at the age of 92, ending a ministry of 76 years and a lifetime with Jesus that continues in heaven.

On Friday 15 September, Kibworth and Fleckney Rotary Club held their annual Charity Golf Day at Kibworth Golf Club. At one o’clock the 18, 4-ball teams teed off simultaneously, a shot gun start, from all 18 tees. We were lucky with the weather and, after a fun round of golf, the teams all congregated back at the clubhouse for a buffet meal.
