Debbie James

Voting Green is not just a vote for the protection and nurture of a community’s biodiversity, it’s a vote for social equity and fairness for its citizens. People and place matter, across the generations.
As a business-owner in Kibworth, I am well-placed to hear daily about not just the concerns of our communities’ residents, but also the reasons why people love living here. There is so much to celebrate about where we live. Whilst improving on it, we also need to protect it. Many people run their own businesses here in South Leicestershire, either from premises with shop-fronts or from offices and homes. These businesses provide fair opportunity and jobs, with many of them offering personalised and outstanding customer care. In turn, all workers in our region contribute to the local economy. So many industries are represented, bringing extraordinary value to us all on our doorstep.

In support of this economy, well-run public services are key. This underpins my aspiration for considered improvements in infrastructure. These will reduce costs, improve quality and make the very fabric of our villages sustainable. We want to look at community energy provision, traffic management and inclusive access to facilities which promote and support physical and mental wellbeing.
A vote for Debbie James would be a vote for further strengthening our village communities and infrastructure, amplifying our voice in the wider world and sustainably providing a home where we can all live, work and play with respect, equality and representation.
