Dear Editor
Tragic Loss
A number of Kibworth & District Chronicle readers may know of Joan and John Boyall, the couple who enjoyed daily morning walks in and around Kibworth. They had many local casual acquaintances with whom they chatted and laughed.
Tragically they were involved in a terrible motoring accident on 6th September, and both died. They were returning from a holiday trip on the A 303 north of Winchester. Little is known of the circumstances, the occupants of the other car suffered minor injuries, and the police are seeking witnesses and dash-cam footage.
Joan and John, who had been married for 55 years, may be remembered as the couple who used to do the door-to-door collections for charity, and they shared in community activities. Joan enjoyed yoga and John was a member of the golf club for 51 years.
They both had long and distinguished careers in the teaching profession in Leicester, and were enjoying a busy retirement, during which they travelled the world, and actively supported many charities.
If there is a consoling factor, it is that they died together and neither is left alone with serious or incapacitating injuries. They had no children.
We are sorry to lose such a delightful and sociable couple, they will be sadly missed.
