Resistivity Survey at Kibworth Harcourt Post Mill

On Tuesday 26 March volunteers from  the Hallaton Fieldwork Group (it’s this group who previously discovered the Hallaton Hoard (which currently has pride of place in Harborough Museum) visited with their specialist equipment.

They busily set about  carrying out a resistivity survey of the site by sending electrical charges into the earth at specific points and plotting the responses.

When the responses have been fully analysed we will have some idea what is lying beneath the soil, which may not have been moved since before at least 1711 when the mill was erected.
