Kibworth Community Library – May 2024

“I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain, I’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never end.”

James Taylor

Well, for the last few months we have certainly seen rainy days we thought would go on forever! Despite the grey days, every cloud has a silver lining: our ponds and water butts must be full to the brim and our gardens are lush with growth.

Plant Sale

But… there is always room for more plants in a garden! We are holding our now renowned Plant Sale on Saturday 1 June. Doors open at 10am and it runs until 12pm. There’ll be plenty of gorgeous, healthy plants on offer, including perennials and vegetables. Come along and get your garden all ready for summer. Kibworth and Smeeton WI will be decorating our garden for the event with some beautiful birds!

Summer Book Sale

If you haven’t picked up enough bargains, we have our Summer Book Sale on Saturday 8 June from 10am-12noon. Great quality donated books and every single one reduced to tantalisingly low prices. Perfect.

Lego Club

Our Lego Club is proving to be very successful but we are looking for a couple of people to help on the second Sunday of the month, especially with setting up and putting away. If you love Lego and children and have an hour or so free once a month then please get in touch at volunteering@kibworthcommunitylibrary.org.uk

Make Music Day

La Fête de la Musique, also known in English as Make Music Day, is an annual music celebration that takes place on 21 June. On Make Music Day, citizens and residents are urged to play music outside in their neighbourhoods, or in public spaces and parks. Every year on this day we have children from Kibworth Primary School and Kibworth Mead Academy performing in the library, and they are so talented.

If you feel like popping in to support them, please check our website for information at www.kibworthcommunitylibrary.org.uk or follow us on Facebook for up-to-date information about all our events.
