New Kibworth Youth Cafe @ The Well

Harborough District Children and Young People’s Charity (HCYC) are very excited to announce a new youth club for the young people of Kibworth. Anyone aged 11 years to 16 years is invited to drop into The Well café on Tuesday evenings, term time, 6-7.30pm.

The club opened on Tuesday 18 April and is funded initially by The National Lottery Community Fund. There is no charge to the young people using it, which ensures that more young people can access it.
HCYC’s skilled youth work staff will be on hand to offer a variety of fun and engaging activities built around what the young people say they want to do each week. This could include quizzes and challenges, games, music, cooking, or arts and crafts activities. This provision could also give space for completing homework or simply chatting with friends and staff. All the activities are designed to help young people feel proud of their achievements, more confident in their abilities, and better able to get on with their peers and others in their communities.

Kay Hillier, HCYC Youth Projects Coordinator said, “It is a really valuable resource, and aims to provide a safe, stable, supportive, recreational and developmental opportunity for Kibworth’s young people”.

HCYC currently run successful clubs in South Kilworth and Great Easton, Fleckney and now Kibworth.
The charity regularly recruits sessional and part time Play and Youth Work Assistants and Leaders to support its delivery and is currently looking for additional Assistants to support delivery within these clubs and HCYC’s other projects.

All enquiries about the club, or anyone interested in working for HCYC as a Play and Youth Work Assistant should contact the charity on info@hcyc.og.uk.
