Ye Kibworth Kamera Karol

This may be sung to the carol “God rest ye merry”

VERSE ONE

A sea-so-nal rejoicing now the traffic islands clear;

If seeds of natural flow–ers are encouraged to appear

`twill add some extra colour and good cause to raise a cheer

That our taxes are bringing brighter “sites” nearer to here;

That our tax is bringing brighter “sights” to here;

VERSE TWO

There is a further benefit – the

ca–me–ras will know,

Without the bushes in the way the number plates will show;

When speeding New Road. High Street up Church Hill in gears not low

So our tax could mean speeding vehicles with fines to owe.

So our tax could mean some vehicles` fines to owe.

VERSE THREE

The cameras now can doubtless see who parks on yellow lines;

No question – there’s the proof – just give illegal parking fines..

Ignore the “only nipping chippie!! – back in seconds` time”

So our tax could mean parking vehicles with fines to owe.

So our tax could mean some parking fines to owe.

VERSE FOUR

The cameras now have sight of vehicles parked where people go.

They`ll have the visual evidence which clearly will now show –

The reason for the curb stones some apparently don`t know !!

So our tax could mean pavement vehicles with fines to owe.

So our tax could mean some pavement fines to owe.

VERSE FIVE

How-e-ver, maybe I am being much too starry eyed –

The ca–meras for security? ? – You laughed or maybe cried;

How many village prosecutions ? Let`s hope our best guide

Is not something that`s round, like zero , with nothing inside;

Is not something like a zero `note` inside;

Peaceful Christmas,

Roger Garratt.
